Merry Christmas!
I have been trying to use Movie Edit Pro this afternoon and for some reason the software keeps crashing, its seriously starting to annoy me now.
Thinking of trying something new (hopefully cheap in the January sales!) Any recommendations?
I find Movie Edit pro not very user friendly and the manual is translated from German to English and is quite undeterminable in places. Im after something to add effects, easy to edit and cut etc and quick processing times.
At the moment, Movie Edit pro takes about 10 mins per 2 mins of footage if it doesnt crash.
Cheers

I am a big fan of Sony Vegas. With a good guide or tutorial it is easy to get into. And after that, it is great.
I am no expert, and I have no idea how much it costs.

Just make sure you meet the required specification. Meeting the minimum will be ok, but always best to meet the reccomended.0 -

The best video editing software for windows is Adobe Premiere Pro. This is hideously expensive for the casual user (ballpark £700!). However, Adobe do an excellent cut-down version of this - called Premiere Elements - a true bargain at less than a 1/10th of the price!0

Adobe Premier Pro here!... more for the Professional/Advanced users though, not light home users0

iMovie works extremely well for the price (free with every Mac). I assume you'll be using a Mac for video editing? That's what most professionals use.
If you want something better then you'll have to pay the price for Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro. Not as user-friendly, however.
iMovie does everything I need to do.0 -
