Cheap 37-42" plasma/lcd tv

I, like many others are no doubt on the hunt for a cheap telly in these coming sales. I thought it would be useful if we could try and keep all deals we find to one thread, so here it is. Too date, i have found two good deals, at Woolworths and Argos.

Details below.

HD ready LCD tv, reduced from £799 to £549. They also have one reduced from £899 to £599 but im not sure what the difference is.

Any comments on this telly?

Woolworths are selling a 37" Techwood LCD telly, reduced from £599 to £499.

The Argos one seems the better deal to me, so far.................

The £599 Bush has Freeview built in, the cheaper one doesn't.

Bush is probably a better bet than Techwood.

Bide your time, tomorrow and Wednesday might see some good deals appearing!

Out of interest, what sort of contrast ratio and resolution should you be looking for when purchasing a LCD/plasma televsions?
