Hi All
my father who is 87, has 40k to invest, he has been investing this money for the last four years with the Abbey National, in a retirement bond at 4.85% which is maturing very soon, any advice for where to reinvest this money now, where to look for the best place to invest.
Do i take out another bond or invest in a ISA although a max of 3k in tax year.
any help or appreciated.
regards league

What you want is specific advice and that cannot be given via the board due to regulatory requirements. Howeve,r suggestions for things to investigate are not a problem

What sort of risk is he looking for? I know at that age, he may not want to consider stockmarket or equity investments normally but there are ISAs/Unit Trusts/OEICs/Bonds will offer guaranteed minimum return of capital or balance if higher in the event of death.
Or is he just looking at a savings account based on a deposit range?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
