I dont really know what your chances are to be honest but I would have thought that they will be nearer zero than anything else!

Did you not think to wait for the sales etc before buying it?

What is their returns policy? Can you not just return it as unwanted, get the refund and then buy it again?

if its faulty you get 28 days to return it, in my experience they hardly ever actually check!!!

  • Thanks for the swift replies. Probably be easier returning the item and just buying another one. I only bought it because they only had 2 left instore and werent sure if they were getting anymore in stock. It is not been opened so should have no trouble getting my money back

How about seeing if your credit card (if you paid with one) will refund the difference, as some do have a price protection policy like barclays, hsbc, etc.

What you going to do when your store doesn't have any in stock ?
If you bought 1 of the last 2 and that was a week ago ??????

I'm sure you can return it but don't expect to buy it back again 10 minutes later ! (afterall the only one they'll have is your returned, possibly faulty, one left) unless of course someone else hasn't bought it in the meantime !!!

  • I will judge the situation when i go in the store, If there are ones at the reduced price i can buy one then take mine back for a full refund.

Im happy with it for 599 but if i can get 100 quid back it cant be sniffed at

Just a thought - what will you tell them as to why you are taking it back?!

I would speak to the store and see if there is anything they can do but I doubt that there is as price drops can happen at anytime, okay more so at this time of the year!

T&C No.6 We reserve the right to refuse an exchange or refund with or without proof of purchase.

I wouldn't buy your new one before returning your old one. You better think of an excuse........like it was an xmas pressie and they didn't want it, or your wife battered you for buying it. You could try the truth but I would phone head office CS with the truth first and ask if they think you would be allowed to just get the 100 pounds back by returning and buying it back in the same transaction. Because once you've told the people at the store the truth it will be too late.

If I was behind a company I would be very concerned that you hadn't broke it in transit back and forth.

Once you have your refund, you could theoretically be cheeky and say, "Right I'll buy it back now" but they could refuse to sell.

It might be best to send someone else to buy it back for you.

*And to think I was P'ssd off for buying a dvd from HMV for £20 and yesterday they started their sale giving it a price of £15! :(
