If it is, it's worth waiting for. I had the DVD as a pressie and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Did you go back to your ASDA and get the tag removed ?

It's amazing really how often the security tags don't set off the machines at the door. This year I received some ski gloves with the tag still attached (rang shop had it removed no problems). SIL bought a very expensive evening dress and wore it to a Xmas do. It wasn't until she sat down that she noticed the rather uncomfortable lump that was the security tag. Thankfully it blended in with the dress and you couldn't really tell it was there unless it was pointed out to you. Again the shop removed it the next day.

Would definitely recommend ringing before going back to the shop as it smooths any potential problems out beforehand.

I've only just seen this thread, but just in case someone else reads it and this happens to them in future: I used to work for Woolworths and if a security tag had been left on, eg clothes, and the person needed to make another trip in, we used to offer to pay the person their petrol money. So it might be worth to ask for compensation for your time and petrol and for goodwill purposes on the shop's part they may well offer it. You won't know unless you ask and it's always worth asking!!

A note for everyone on the thread, especially WELSH-DRAGON if you get any of the ink tags, with different couloured inks, DO NOT try and pull it off with pliers, put the item in the freezer for a few hours, this allows the ink to freeze then you can remove the tag without the ink leaking!

I was in tesco the other day and we bought a bottle of baileys with a tag on the guy did'nt bother taking it off so I asked him what it was and he said sorry it's a security tag just forgot, and he admitted he was normally on security not the tills so I guess you could say it's christmas and that they are all a wee bit tired or just fed-up or hung-over.

Souldn't a security man be more likely to see the tag than an ordinary checkout operator?

How much work must be involved in tagging booze at this time of year. It must fly off the shelf!

I'd hope checkout ops know more than security to remove tags as we do it (Hopefully!) day in & day out, at our store security aren't even allowed on tills, suprising he is really. Did ya get them to remove the tag? I had it happen to a couple who lived quite a drive away so also gave them a giftcard as there were no nearer stores :!! Luckily none of mine have arrived tagged from Santa lol Happy New Year all xxx

the guy just said sorry I'm usually on security, when I asked rather candidly if it were a new form of cork for when you open the bottle, the poor guy just went red and said sorry so many times I felt sorry for him. but he did check to see if there was one in the wine and cheese pack I got at half price, I just said if we go beep beep on the way out we'll come back in and sort out the shopping then we did'nt and I did'nt find any in the wine and cheese when I opened it at home so just as well. I guess they were either short staffed or he had changed his job.
