Fridge Filter - Samsung or compatible?

The filter light on my fridge/freezer is telling me that I need to replace it and I see that there are compatible ones available as well as the more expensive Samsung brand itself. Please can anyone comment on whether the compatible ones are just as good, or do they not last so long or filter the water so well? Don't mind paying more for Samsung if I'm getting some benefit for doing so but, if the cheaper ones do exactly the same job, it would be nice to save a few pounds.

In terms of filtering, I can't tell the difference.

In terms of fitting, the Samsung ones are easier to fit. We always end up cutting an inch or two of tube to get the compatibles to fit properly and they are harder to secure in place.
