Flymo Cordless XT Product Recall

Bought a Flymo Cordless XT in May 11. On 2nd use the battery won't charge - 5 days later still not charged.
Ring Flymo (or so I thought) - Guy on phone wants £57 for a new battery (Strimmer was £50). I rant he tells me to ring Flymo as they are an agent for them.
Ring Flymo on the number he gave me - talk to a nice man who tells me the model has a recall on it because the chargers are Faulty.
Sorry this is getting long but nearly done. The twist is the original number I called is to a company that is handling the recall!!
They tell me to carefully unplug the charger as it could be dangerous.
If I hadn't had a rant I may have ended up paying £57 & then still having a faulty & dangerous charger. Despite ringing the company handling the recall.
NB I told Flymo and their agents they need to tell the Call centre whats going on.
