You get rates gauranteed 5% cheaper than the online, dd tariff until your lump sum runs out.
They try to make you pay a silly amount, but just be clear about what your previous years spend was and make that your payment

If you ring any supplier, or indeed any company, and ask to pay an amount you want (i.e. what you've worked out your annual costs are) I'm sure no-one will have a problem with that.0
