Looking after oiled oak floor

I have recently had solid oak parquet flooring laid, which was finished with coats of oil. The decorating and painting that was done after the floor was laid has left a lot of dust in the room and on the floor. So, a couple of questions.
1) Can I mop the floor without harming it to wipe off the dust?
2) How should I be cleaning it normally? Will a hoover scratch it? Should I mop regularly or just hoover/ sweep?
I have never had wooden floors before so just want to make sure it is looked after properly.

Hi there,
I did a lot of research about buying a wood floor but never went ahead (cost). However, in the course of my research, I found this website:

The answer to your question (if not subsequently supplied on here) should be found there.
good luck,

We had solid oak installed in the hallway two years ago - it's beautiful and I absolutely love it. I vacuum it gently and if it needs it, I use (can't recall the brand, sorry) diluted Soapy Wood cleaner on a barely damp swiffer type mop to remove muddy paw prints etc. That's all it needs! The only slight bit of damage we had was someone walking down the hallway without taking off their shoes (trainers) which had a small sharp stone trapped in the tread. I sanded it over and used a tiny dab of plastic wood to fill the indent.0
