  • Hello everyone!

    Hope you're all well?

Thank you for the lovely messages :o Finn is being a little star and letting me catch up with the forum so I'm trying to make the most of it while it lasts :D

Feeling in need of a bit of reinspiration on the debt busting front, but thats probably because I've ignored it completely for nearly a month! DH has a day off on Monday so, if Finn allows :D, we're going to have a good review of the finances and work out which direction to take. We have an awful lot of stuff to save up for in the way of house repairs etc but I'm also very aware of the debts hanging over us. Having said that, I'm feeling very positive about money at the moment, especially considering my "payrise" from coming off SSP and starting on maternity allowance!

DS1 is off on a school trip to London next week so this weekend I need to get him organised for that. I've bought him a Build a Bear gift card "from the baby" so he can spend that when they go to Hamleys (he'd spent all his money by the time they got to Hamleys last year and he was gutted!) so I'm really hoping that's going to arrive in time.

Anyway, its taken me nearly all morning to get that typed - nothing to do with Finn, the flaming internet is up and down like a !!!!!s drawers at the moment so I'm going to post and run before it falls over again!

Will hopefully be back over the weekend :) xx
  • Well its good to have time out and take stock. If you need any support or heckling you know you can count on us lot.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Well hello Diaryland - I've missed you!

We still aren't quite in a routine yet so getting online is not as straight forward as it used to be but its getting better so I should be able to catch up with everyone over the next few days (hopefully!) :D

Loving being a mum to a newborn again though...I'd forgotten just how cool babies are! DS1 is being a fabulous big brother and DH is a fabulous dad - just need to sort the sleeping thing out and everything will be peachy!

Financially we've kind of stagnated. Just been paying the minimums on the debts to keep the wolves from the door but we've been working hard to get a slush fund up and running. We're nearly there - got about £800 of the £1500 that we're aiming for - just need to decide what to do with it once we've got it!

Haven't heard anything back on either of the PPI reclaims so chasing that will be getting bumped higher up the to do list.

House wise, we're nearly there too, hubby still working hard but we should be done by Christmas. Christmas wise we're all done, bought and wrapped and feeling VERY organised about it too! Tree and decs will be going up this weekend whether DH likes it or not - I can't wait to see what Finn will make of it all!

Well, he's still sleeping so I'm off to grab a coffee and then attempt to catch up with all you lovely peeps! xxx
