The real horse's mouth is the European Central Bank; you can view the data here: http://www.ecb.int/stats/exchange/eurofxref/html/index.en.html
Click on the chart symbol next to the ref. to £ sterling, & you get graphs for the last 365 days, since January 1999, & reference rates over last four months.

https://www.xe.com also doubles as a currency trader, but as they are based in Canada they can only carry out Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) in dollars within North America. Does anyone know of a similar undertaking which can deal in GBP & Euros by EFT?0

I have found https://www.onlinefx.co.uk to be very good and their rates are updated constantly throughout the day, so you can take advangtage when the US Dollar rate hopefully surges again! Whereas Travelex seem to update rates only once a day. If you order more that £2000 of currency you can ring them and haggle an even better rate! https://www.fxcm.co.uk is good for currency trading.0
