Best way to sand a box room wood floor?

Hi there! I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I'm hoping to transform the box room into my baby's nursery. We have a real wood strip floor in there at the moment (the type that is made of layers of real wood, so can be sanded).

Bearing in mind it's only a tiny box room, what's the best way of sanding the floor? We have hired those big sanding machines in the past, but it seems very overkill for such a small room, particularly as they don't get into corners.

By 'best way', I mean quickest and most cost-effective for a nice finish.

Thank you in advance!

I once did a small bathroom floor with a small diy sander I brought from B&Q. It did take some time and there were a lot vibrations from the sander. Perhaps you could just hire a smaller one (one for edges and corners). The chap who sanded my dining room and hall just used a hand held sander.
