I noticed a distinct lack of emails this week so I did a test from work. I have a @tesco.net address which I have used for years and I use gmail for my email. The @tesco.net address no longer works and I get the error message -
The message could not be delivered due to a configuration error on the server.
<mtain03-winn.ispmail.private.ntl.com#5.3.0smtp;554 delivery error:This user does not have a yahoo.co.uk account (mail@yahoo.co.uk)[-5]- mta1054.mail.ukl.yahoo.com>
I do not use yahoo, I fear my daughter must have done something, any idea how I can remedy this?

in the client email application check for the smtp and pop3 settings -- and input the correct original Tesco settings.A new abacus

By client email application I take it you mean Gmail. But what I don't understand is the bit about "this user does not have a yahoo.co.uk account" ???0

Hi Peat, can you go through this again. so you have a say myemailaddress@tesco.com that you have been using for ages,
but you also have a gmail account for your email?0 -
Gmail does not seem to require one to enter or change the settings,
I've just entered the @tesco.net address again and it did not ask for settinngs. Also if the problem were at the gmail end surely my emails would be stacked up in my tesco.net inbox which is not the case.0 -
Sorry, posts over-lapped. I use gmail for my emails. Gmail takes the messages from my tesco.net and my virgin.net and my mypostoffice.co.uk email addresses. The tesco.net is my main email address which I have used for years and through which most of my emails come. This week they stopped and sending an email from my work generated the error message shown in my first post.0

Just tried again after re-entering the tesco.net address in gmail - same result:
