Should I buy a gas or electric oven?

Surely most decent modern electric ovens are multi-function these days?
I do a lot of baking and almost always use the fan function (had electric multifunction ovens in the previous 3 places I've lived, before that was gas, never again) and have never seen windswept waves in my cakes and biscuits
IIRC I only use the conventional setting for baked cheesecakes.
As others have said above, no matter which cooker you get, you have to "get to know" it to get the best out of it.
I always preferred a gas hob for responsiveness, but our new house has an induction hob (first one I've used apart from in holiday apartments etc) and actually it has really impressed me - as devotee says it is very responsive and a doddle to keep clean and sleek - so maybe I'll become a convert.0 -
I prefer gas hob and electric oven. I hate electric hobs.
Only problem is I have a double oven and it does use a lot of electricity to warm something up. I find oven chips come out crispier in the electric as well.
When I was younger my mum didn't let me bake a cake unless the oven was filled with potatoes and casserole much to my annoyance.
Now i'm finding I do the same
