Well i can only speak from my experience, i was made bankrupt and had to list my patners FULL take home pay regardless of the fact that he was paying over half of it on a DMP, the OR is not interested in your other halfs debts just the joint income and the outgoings as allowed on a SOA - they will then work out what percentage of the the outgoings you are liable for and iff there is any surplus. So it needs to be his total take home income that is put on the form, its better to be honest up front or you will look like your trying to hide something. I beleive that you can refuse to give partners income but then its up to the OR to decide how much of the allowances they will let you claim for, its also seen as not co-operating fully. We are actually payign out more now than we did before however mine is only for the 3 years so after that we will be better off.
the surplus is only whats left from your money after paying your percentage and not a total surplus. Your partner can have as much surplus as they like as long as the total (allowed) outgoings are divided up pro rata if you get my drift.
eg if they bring in £2,400 and you earn £240 then you will only be liable for 10% of the household expenses. Any difference between £240 and the expenses is your surlus. So if the household expenses are £1,200 then you would pay £120 towards them and have £120 surplus - hope that helps/explains it better.0 -
I just read on form 6.28 That it actually asks for other members of the households contribution..... I don't even actually know the total amout my OH earns!!
Confused againn now!Proud to be dealing with my debts
