sending ebay item to Guernsey, is it more expensive??

i just sold an item on ebay for £18, with £6.50 postage, uk

it weighs 3.5 kg

i was thinking of getting a courier then realised the address was Guernsey, never sent anything there before, but the cheapest quote i got off parcel to go was £18.xx

can anyone tell me if royal mail parcels is any different, i cant seem to find any info

    What service had you planned to use as I can't see any Royal Mail service that cheap for 3.5kg?

    Actually it looks as though parcel is 7.62 according to that, I didn't notice the parcel option first time.
    That's a huge difference from a courier.
    Hence I posted a link so that you can check it yourself. I'd hate to tell you it was x if I'd read it wrong.

    That is standard parcels and AFAIK CI are not included.

    What if I want to send packages abroad?
    We have other services that are more suited to sending packages overseas. Our International Signed For service is ideal for sending parcels abroad safely and on time. Visit sending mail over seas!for further information. Please also remember that if you are sending packages to the Channel Islands, they count as abroad too.
