Hi my husband insured his new peugeot partner van with a company a couple of days ago. He went through all the details on the phone and then paid the massive premium over the phone. He then recieved the documents and the no claims bonus was wrong.
He had informed them he had no no claims as he has only been a named driver on my insurance. He has also only been driving since 2008. When the policy came through it had 9 years no claims on - an impossibility especially considering they ask you to confirm how long you have held a UK driving licence.
On ringing to amend the mistake they then informed him he would have to pay a huge £300 more on top of the £750 he has already paid and insisted it was his mistake not theirs - again an impossibility considering he had said he was only a named driver on my policy and he had only had a driving licence for 3 years.
Can anybody tell me what we can do about this? Surely they should honour the price if they have made a mistake? And is there anybody we can complian to?
Thanks

You complain to the insurer. They will then listen to the recording of the conversation and see whose fault it is from there.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). i would ask them to listen to the call... without them listening they can not say they were misinformed.
make an official complaint, as well, if they refuse to budge, log the complaint with FOS/FSAPromo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
