  • Went into Newport, gwent store yesterday and they had clothes, make up, pjs and camping stoves left. Only half the store was open as most decent stuff has gone. The make was all ruined so not many people were buying it, but they did have some decent clothes in a range of sizes. It was 70% off everything and there was a poster saying 'last 2 days'.

My bargains were two pairs of jeans, bra, tight socks and glittery/shiny red stars for the christmas tree all for £5.

The jeans were the best bargain as they were supposed to be £7.99 each or 2 for £11.99, so at the till £5.99 came off and then another 70%.:j
  • I went into Maidstone yesterday, and there were 'last 3 days' signs, so now last 2 days. Signs said 70% off. The lower floor was empty and closed off, and the other 2 floors were only using half of their available space, if that. Lots of clothes left, and lots of tents in bags. Fixtures and fittings are also for sale.

If anyone is looking for school blouses, grey school skirts or grey pinafores for little ones just starting school, they had quite a few of these - bargain!

    These stores have been saved:
Widnes, Newcastle, Liverpool, Eastbourne, Sheffield and Glasgow

    ."
eastbourne may have been saved by john lewis, but its still got to sell all the t j hughes stock. info for anyone which may be of use. the basement is now closed and empty and the resturant is still serving food.
life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.
  • I forgot to add that they also had lots of school uniform in Newport store, they had a whole rack full of blouses, skirts, trousers, dresses and jumpers.

Also lots of tents and ladies zip off walking trousers.

  • TJ Hughes Derby is closing this Sunday.

I popped in today and there was very little left. I managed to get a hairdryer for £15 and the cupcake maker machine for £7.49 (50% off).

  • King's Lynn closed today at 12 and was 90% off everything except concessions. It wasn't even too hectic for a final day. Some real bargains still to be had, especially Gelert camping equipment - tents, backpacks etc. I came away with over £200 costing just under £20 and on checking total of bill noticed that they seemed to have paid me to take away dvds.

It might be worth checking this in stores yet to close if there is 90% off. There is a sticker on some £5.99 dvds saying 2 for £10, but this amount is deducted at end from bill total so they pay you 78p to take them away (2 @ 60p less £1.98). Just wish I'd bought more than two. Can't really complain though as I got a couple of 5 boxed sets for £1.30 each!

Other good buys included many pairs of shoes, tops, Revlon make up and some Mason Cash puppy and kitten gift sets.
