I then checked what DSR's she had left me and yes, she had caused me a problem.
5 for item description, 4 for communication, 3 for dispatch time and 1 for post and packing.

How exactly do you find the detailed seller ratings that have been left ?

  • eBay policy says:

The buyer fails to respond to a reminder about an unpaid item and the unpaid item is recorded on their account

    Use this form:

    http://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactUs&wftype=2017&rcode=FB%25P10049&subject=Feedback%20Abuse&bcrumb=%20Home%20%3E%20Help%20%3E%C2%A0Membership%20%26%20account%C2%A0%3E%C2%A0Rules%20%26%20policies%C2%A0%3E%C2%A0Feedback%20abuse&instruction=&exp

and select 'I used a dispute resolution service', unless the buyer has had their unpaid item strike removed the feedback should be removed.

On your feedback page, it is only shown when you have 10 or more, you can View your Seller Dashboard & see what low ratings you've been given, 1 +2's.
You can also run reports & find out which categories you've been left low stars for.

    Thanx hermum :)

I was interested in CW's comment as I got the impression that she had been able to see the exact rating that was given by the customer

That's on your Detailed seller ratings reports. You can create reports, at least I'm pretty sure that's where it is, I know I've found mine before.
  • The Dashboard will show you how many lows you've got in the last 3 or 12 months depending on which period you are rated over.

Some sellers use the reporting option to run reports by item numbers, you need at least 10 who have left feedback and stars to get any data and you can substitute numbers until, by a process of elimination, you figure out which item number the scores belong to.

Personally I think it's all a waste of time and sellers should focus on selling rather than figuring out which buyer left which score as ultimately you can't do anything about it.

Generally I agree, however it's good to see what category etc, so that you can figure out if it's something that you can improve on.
Or not sell in that category if you aren't meeting sellers expectations.

I'm fairly new to selling on ebay - just wanted to find out how I can improve my ratings.

Give very good service and that way the majority of your stars will be excellent and you can afford to soak up the odd poorer star from a difficult buyer with no problems.

Do make a habit of keeping an eye on the expanded seller dashboard though, you need to spot a problem before ebay do.

    Hi

Yes, I sometimes run the report so I can see what DSR's have been left. This particular one left positive feedback, yet suddenly my DSR's dropped. As I wanted to be sure, I ran the reports and sure enough she had marked my DSR's down.
