default mail client

"Default mail client is not properly installed" is a message i often get,but why??
My isp is eclipse and the email address works ok--I have a googlemail address which works ok-so why the message

It's got mozilla thunderbird,which i used to use--should I change that to my new isp address-which i rarely use-or my googlemail address??0 -
