Last time I moved, I had the exact same worries, however, had a couple of defaults on my credit file. The letting agency reassured me saying that you're not likely to fail the credit check unless you have ccj's or have been made bankrupt.

I've always found that the best way is to be 100% honest with the letting agency. On my last time, I went to the letting agency with a print out of my credit report and explained my situation in detail. The letting agency were then fully aware of anything that may have cropped up during any of the checks.
  • Hi I am looking to rent but am worried I am on a DMP and like you have no ccjs, but have made lots of late payments, is there a chance I can rent.

Rental credit checks only have access to public data... such as electoral roll and CCJs. They do NOT (legally) have access to financial data regarding how much debt you have and whether or not it is paid on time.
