thanks for the replies, i will try to contact the buyers local sorting office tomorrow, looking at the buyers feedback it may be they have a problem getting their mail, a few items not turned up in the last few months.
if i let it go to dispute i will probably end up with a neg and disputes go against you i believe,
its fustrating and even though its not massive amounts of money to be told i will only get stamps back is annoying.

After reading that this has happened several times to the buyer I would be thinking maybe it HAD been delivered.?

Not necessarily; I've asked RM to investigate my mail as I've had 3 parcels go missing this month from EBay - out of 10! Heck of a cruddy percentage and the sorting office are as much use as a chocolate teapot!

I'm having to ask sellers if I can pay extra for recorded or registered just to make sure I get stuff I've paid for, if it's just got stamps, chances are I won't get it. :(

I wouldn't bother with tracking, my mother finds recorded even worse than normal post for reaching her.

Me too, if we aren't in, either the postman signs it and leaves it somewhere or gets a neighbour to sign and doesn't tell me. Recorded delivery is a largely pointless service in the way it is carried out.

Yeah, tend to agree. I ordered some tickets a while ago which cost £250, paid £6 for the option of recorded delivery (yeah I know) and the postie faked the signature. It's because we have an external mailbox that I wanted to sign for them, would've had no comeback if they'd been half inched from the box.

£6 charge should have been special delivery, that has to be signed for.
Tickets should always be special delivery. Recorded would have only covered the seller for the value 100 x 1st class stamps for compensation.
  • Probably was special delivery, I can't remember what the website said. My point was that the postman didn't do their job properly.
