Camera Power Supply - Take Batteries Out?

I have a camera I use indoors for taking photos of products with a mains power supply. Outside I use rechargeable batteries. Should I take the batteries out when it is on the power supply? The instructions on the power supply say that it does not charge batteries but do not give any instructions about whether batteries should be in or out.

Leave them in. The camera will cut off the battery supply and use the power supply only. As soon as you remove the power supply the battery supply will be re-enabled.

You could check it by switching the camera off, then plug the power supply into the camera but not the mains, then try switching the camera on. As Rygon said, most power sockets will cut the battery power when they have a plug in.
