Asbestos in Loft Insulation?

I have discovered that the loose fill loft insulation in our recently acquired house is Vermiculite. They did a pretty shoddy job of it imho - bits of silver foil and chipboard floating about amongst it all.
I was going to bag it all up and replace with standard rockwool type rolls up to 270mm as currently recommended, but reading about Vermiculite on the internet has worried me that it possibly contains asbestos. Any thoughts on this?
I understand that all Vermiculite produced after 1990ish was asbestos free, but since I don't know when the insulation was installed this isn't much help.
What I do know is that the felt in the roof has been replaced recently (post insulation) and that one of the chimneys has been capped off (again, post insulation).
Cheers!:)

If at all in doubt then best get an independant asbestos testing company to test it for you. Preferably a company that doesnt do asbestos removal. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Do such organisations exist? I assumed that they'd all be asbestos removal firms.
Can anyone recommend any in the Bristol area?
