quite a few places around my area has age limits on kids menus, we went to one with my 2 year old, I didn't order any food but had a drink and my oh ordered a fish dinner & drink and my little girl had fish fingers, chips & beans. my little girl ate everything except for 1 fish finger which I ate rather than waste it and the manager came over and told me off.
Needless to say we've never been back.

In the past when I have tried to order a children's meal (I too am a small eater), I have been told that it isn't allowed as the prices are heavily subsidised. These have tended to have been certain roadside cafe's that are also common at Service Stations and Motels If you get the drift! However, supermarket and more general restaurants haven't batted an eyelid thankfully.

I have seen age limits on childrens menus, usually on special offers or very discounted childrens food.. but I wouldn't specificly say anything unless asked, and then I would say "my daughter is autistic and struggles with food, she doesn't eat adult portions and doesn't understand the ingredients on the adult menu, choosing her own food is important to her" Any food establishment should be OK with that, if they're not then I suggest they're not worth going to.

And allowing an adult to eat from a child menu would be a reasonable adjustment under the DDA.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
