I won't miss my debts - although it will be years before they are all paid off. I'm too stressed about them, and I look forward to being debt free so I can start getting a mortage to worry about clearing :-pDFW Nerd No. 140

Debt free-ness...it's a long way off for me (2010 when loan gets paid off).
In the meantime though I have/will cleared credit cards & overdrafts a-plenty and I won't miss them in the slightest!!
However when it eventually becomes a memory (because I will be trying my hardest not to get in this state again) I think I will miss the 'drive' I have being a DFW.
I can't imagine not posting on here!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Maybe there should be a forum for debt free-ers with new challenges and targets, what about a make a million challenge? Going to be a long time before I get there but would be an inspiration to DFW lurkers.Mutual Supporters club member (Nov 2006)

I agree :T0 -
I don't think its an anti climax as much as a change in expectations. I wanted to be debt free so I didn't waste money paying interest and I'd have more to spend. I do spend more than when I was clearing debts but I now have a target of paying 10% off the mortgage each year and I set myself savings goals for each year too.
For the far future, well 14 years from now actually, I could retire around 57 if my plans work out. Thats a nice thought.
