Prepayment switching confusion... ready to give up

Hi All
I have been reading this forum to try and gain information about switching suppliers. I currently use EDF for both gas and electric and have a prepayment meter for both. I want to switch and then go to a fixed direct debit (being made redundant next month:eek:)
Uswitch seems to have a melt down when I try and get results for a switch from prepayment to DD. So I entered my figures as if I paid the bill when it came for a standard duel fuel tarif and it came back that EON were significantly cheaper. So I check Quidco and they have a £50 cashback offer for a dual switch click through... EON site goes into meltdown at the thought of trying to go from prepayment to DD. So do i just give up? Do I get EDF to change me to DD and then try and switch after a month or so? If I ring EON and try and do it over the phone I wont qualify for the £50 cashback and thats going to be quite important to me in the coming months.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:A
