Hi all,
I need to add an internal HDD to an old Jetway 663as motherboard, the bios date is 12/2001 (this is the latest bios, as non have been released after this date), I'm guessing as the motherboard is so old there would be a limit to the size of IDE drive windows will recognise....can anyone tell me what would be the maximum size IDE drive I couuld install and be recognised by Windows XP?. My second option is if I installed a PCI SATA card and sata drive would this HDD limit be removed?, i.e I could install a 250gb SATA drive and it would be recognised by Win XP as a 250gb?, sorry for not making myself too clear....hope you understand!
thanks in advance
Merry christmas to all!

i think the max size it could handle is about 100gb (IDE)
some mb's will accept a 160 gb hdd but will only display 130/140gb as they have limits on the hdd size0 -
Thanks for that, worth a try
