Oh dear, M-i-L in a tizz with my oven. Its a cheap one, electric, built in, bought from B&Q 3 years ago. There are two dials, the one on the left sets the temperature, the one on the right has four settings (clockwise clicks, no pictures or numbers, just a dot). I always use it on one click, F-i-L put it on four clicks this morning and it appears that is the grill inside the oven (so the pork is now burnt to a crisp on the top). F-i-L is now saying one click is half heat. I dont know. When oven was installed (by F-i-L) he threw all paperwork away!!!! Can anyone help???

Sounds like you need to get hold of the instruction manual!
Should be a label on the oven (usually just inside the door) with the make, model number, part number and serial number on..armed with that information you may be able to acquire either an online PDF version of the instruction manual (search the forums for "instruction manuals" - think there's a sticky post somewhere) or order it from the manufacturer.
Edit: See the sticky post at the top of this part of the forum for finding instruction manuals: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=105429

p.s careful you don't grill the turkey!0 -
At a guess, could the settings be:
- Off
- Oven
- Oven and Grill
- Grill

There are no labels at all on my over, I gave it a good clean just yesterday, had a look for some kind of branding and power rating, maybe I would need to pull it out of the housing to find it. Pork has now been cooking for 5 hours and is almost done ... maybe I need to put the turkey in before I go to bed!!!!0

5 hours??? Must be some size joint! I'll be cooking Rib of Beef for 4. Will only take 2 hours.
If you can't find info on your oven perhaps you could pop down to B&Q on the Longlands and ask there?0
