to claim JSA you must be available for, and acvtively seeking work.
full time students are ineligable for JSA on these criteria.
are you sure you have the course criteria right?
it'd be odd to get a full time course free if youre on JSA specifically, when full time students can't claim it.0 -

From September 2011, these benefits will not qualify for free tuition fees unless you are on a full time course and can claim Level 2 and Level 3 entitlement:
Council Tax Benefit
Housing Benefit
Income Support
Working Tax Credit
Pension Credit
Contribution based ESA (unless in the Work Related Activity Group)
Unwaged dependants (as defined by DWP) of those listed above
read this bit again.
it says being on the above benefits will not entitle you 'UNLESS YOU ARE ON A FULL TIME COURSE'
didn't you say the course was full time?0 -
O, I thought it had to be full time and be entitled to the level 2 and 3 entitlement? Thanks for reading though!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0

I think I am studying my first level 2 but not first level 3. I have my GCSE's, I have no A-levels but I studied a Diploma in higher education in 2008 (as a mature student) and started my first year at uni in 2009 but due to my marriage breakdown I left the course and I wouldn't be able to re-do this as I would have childcare problems. I really want to do my course but the tuition fees are 1500 per year and thats before and other course costs
If you already have 5 GCSEs (grade A-C) then you have a full level 2 qualification.
Do you realise that you can get extra help with childcare if you're on a degree level course and that fees are going up enormously from 2012? If you want to study at this level, 2011 will be the best time to do it!
I don't know what course you want to do but you're likely to be bored stiff studying at level 2 for 2 years.0 -

Just to reiterate, you cannot do a full-time course on JSA as you won't be available for work.0
