I'm using Maritins gizmo to look for a better tarrif for gas and electric. I am a low user (just me ina flat) and I'm not addicted to my central heating lol I'm also on ESA, so I have to be vary careful with the bills
I've noticed some seem to charge a higher amount for the first xyz of units used, then the price comes down. Others have a steady but higher rate.
I'm dyslexic and have problems with numbers, so am really struggling to compare all this info I'm getting. I have no idea what my annual usage is becasue my central healing was boken in my previous home from November till I left last week... I had been paying £20 month for electric and £40 for gas. PPM is not an option I want to go for, its so much more expensive than notmal billing, even after shopping around
Any suggestions or help would be rally appreciated, I really have to ge this sorted
Thank you
L xx

How much do you use...ok...you don't know? Which region do you live in? What do you use for heating? Hot water? Cooking? How warm do you like it? How many bedrooms and how many people? Are you home all day or just the evenings and weekends? Who is the current supplier?
Ebico is a good tariff for those who are genuinely low users. I'm with Npower standard plan quarterly direct debit and get a £100 annual rebate which makes it cheaper than many tariffs including Ebico.
Fix? Not sure whether that's worth it or not. If you have been spending £60 a month then I'd stay with that budget. Whenever you are paid then pay £2 a day towards your gas/electric bills using a payment card (i.e weekly £14, fortnightly £28 or monthly £60) and you shouldn't get into too much arrears as long as keep an eye on it. If you can pay by direct debit then pay £60 a month.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thanks for the nod to Ebico. After much comapring I've gone with Ebico for both gas and electric. I like ethical companies, aned the very flexible payment options is really good too. Interestingly , they don't charge extra for PPM's like many others do. I've gone with signing up, then will arrange a standing order every fortnight - which is my payment cycle so is easier for me to manage
Thanks folks
