another Santander complaint!

Yesterday I needed to transfer £339 to my daughter`s natwest account. As the Santander limit for faster payments is £300 (much lower than anyone else`s) I only transferred £300 yesterday (which went as a faster payment). This morning I transferred the remaining £39 - & this has not gone as a faster payment. I have no idea why - I have sent a secure message to Santander for an explaination but going on past experience am not expecting a reasonable reply.
I know Santander has good interest rates but what is the point of having a current account when you cannot rely on it to make payments when they are needed?

You have to wait a full 24 hours from you last reached the limit. So if you sent £300 at 5pm yesterday and then you will not get anymore Faster Payments til 5pm today.
If you have an esaver with santander, you will get another £300 per day with that. so £600 in total.0 -

When you send the money, it gives you a screen to click confirm... if the faster payment logo isnt on the screen, then it will go the normal speed.
£300 per account is a joke, anyways.....
they changed it back in March as i sent payments totalling £550, then in june, i couldnt!:mad:Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
thanks - I have now had a reply from Santander telling me I must always click the `quick transfer` option to make a faster payment - which I hadn`t done for the first payment anyway so that doesn`t make sense!
I had no idea I needed to leave 24 hrs between payments - have just looked at their Quick Transfer information & can find no mention of it.
I also didn`t realise I would have another £300 limit with my esaver.
I seem to spend half my life trying to get round Santander`s over-complicated procedures.
Think I will have to make sure I have a reasonable balance in another bank account in case I need to make urgent transfers in the future.
