300 Norwich Union Shares

Morning All,
My Pa has found an account statement that shows that he holds 300 shares in Norwich Union. The last statement from april 1998. I am aware that Aviva bought out Norwich Union. I need to know what I have to do with my Pa's shares as he needs to release anything they might be worth.
Can any of you help please? I've got no idea.
