I hope the OP gets sorted out really quickly. Not nice at any time year but even worse at christmas. I hope you managed to get some enjoyment from the last few days.
But hate to be picky there is no such thing as a Joint credit card. If the credit card is in the OP's partners name and she happens to has a card. The OP's partner is liable for any debts run up on that card. As it is the partners account and not the OP's.
I was told this by bank when my husband applied for a card and I was given a card the account and statement are all in my husbands name not mine.
You also may have a few problems shutting any bank accounts down with out both signatures not sure about being taken off the accounts though. But do let the bank know what has happened. As any debts run up are liable by both parties.
Also the OP ought to set up a basic bank account if they don't already have there own bank account.
All the best.

Thank you. I have my own bank account which thankfully what little wages I have go into, also child benefit goes in there. We did have a joint account but he is in the process of shutting it down. x0 -

He cannot shut that account without your signature. In the meantime he can take it into overdraft and you will be as liable to pay that back as he is.
You need to contact the bank and ask them to freeze the account so that it cannot be drawn against. If he needs the account or wants it shut down, this should make him do so more quickly, while protecting your interests. Th bank will not close the account unless it is in the black so it is important you keep on top of what is going on with this.0 -

I let you off then
But thought I would point it out as I did not want the OP to get worried for nothing.
And it is a myth that has been around for years a bit like a common law wife one.
