Fitting Induction Hob (Ventilation)

The hob is a 900mm Fagor IF-900S (haven't bought it yet) and the installation instructions say that in addition to air flow from the back of the base unit (from vents in the plinth), there must be a 5mm gap between the top of the base unit and the worktop. We will be fitting a granite worktop and are considering Howden's 800mm deep drawer base units. The hob will overlap two 800 units and we would like at least one of them to have an internal cutlery storage drawer I would be grateful for any help on how this can be achieved. The hob is 65mm deep and worktop will be 30mm.

If it's an internal drawer then the door that conceals it needs to be aligned to be 5mm below the true top of the unit. That should really mean a drop of 2/3mm below it's ideal height. That will have to be repeated across all adjoining units to get the doors and draws vertically aligned.

The horizontal struts on each 800mm unit will need to be lowered accordingly and attached with new fittings. Where the two units meet shouldn't need cutting as you'll now have about 1528mm of airflow - the span of the units less the carcass widths (800+800) - (18+18+18+18).
