Question: Where to get epub books (free or as cheap as possible)

As the title says I am looking to find a place to get epub books from.

My girlfriend is looking for cooking books atm, such as Nigella Lawson etc. I have been able to find one Gordan Ramsey book in epub format for free so far.

This would not be specific to cook books, although that is what I am currently looking for. Any site to get good or new releases epub books would help.

You wont find many 'new' books for free, but Amazon is a bust for EPUB.... Try Waterstones, WHsmiths, or there are a couple of libraries that do Ebook lending out there, but as a Kindle owner, I dont get to play....

You won't get new, in-copyright titles for free, or cheap. If you do, then they're pirated, unless they're part of some short-term promo.
Sites such as the Guteneberg Project and Amazon offer free e-books, but these are out of copyright-that doesn't quite apply to Gordon Ramsay and co yet.

How do library ebooks work? I mean, once you have it on the ipad, how do you go about giving it back or how does it expire?

Clibre will let you export any format to the kindle

Eibraries expire your books after the checking out period - unless you have removed drm. There are plug ins for calibre that will remove drm and convert them to mobi which kindle can read.

bexley, north yorkshire, hertfordshire elibraries all let you join online and borrow ebooks without living in their area.
