http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80199025 these are pretty if you go for the floating bowl idea - again different colours and cheap! 8 heads for 1.99 so less than £20 for enough flowers for all 18 bowls.
By the way, http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90099997 these are only 50p in the sale - if you go down the vase route, you could have some fun with these and perhaps less flowers (which are probably going to be the most expensive item!
P.S. I have no association with IKEA other than I seem to be obsessed with their store and products since beginning my big decorating and general overhaul of the house recently! After much research they seem to always have what I want - and their sale is awesome!

Do you really need centre pieces...who tells you that you do....the venue dresser?
once you have the places laid nicely with clean cutlery and a nicely pressed napkin and dont forget the collection of glasses that will be laid up too on each place setting...that does quite fill a table....so it may be that actually a nice clean line or space is perfectly acceptable...if its just something to fill the gap in the centre of the table then why not just go simple with some confetti or crystals.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I don't really think centrepieces are a must & especially not if you are struggling for money. I know lots of people love them & they look great, but i've been to 2 wedding this year & i can't remember for the life of me what centrepieces they had:o I do remember what a great day was had by all though!Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Hey hun!
I got 12 crackled glass vases of ebay for a tenner and put little glass gems in them and then sprayed twigs silver and hung little jewels off of them. Doesnt sound all that great but they looked fantastic and I reckon they cost about £3 - £4 each to do!!0 -
I have to agree with LEJC and fawny, if you have well laid tables, they'll look nice enough on their own with all the cutlery and glasses. Do you have table numbers and menus going on there, and favours? By the time the food starts being served you end up with not a lot of room anyway. Just a sprinkling of petals would suffice.0

When my brother got married, his wife had a similar problem. What she did (And i think personally it is an absolutely fantastic idea, and it looks beautiful i might add) is she went to a large supermarket (I think she went to Sainsburys, but i know they sell similar in Tesco) and bought a potted Orchid for the middle of each table, some cheap plain white pots for them to stand in, and some theme colour matching tea lights (She went for pink). By the end of the night, the tea lights had burned out or had been blown out, but it still looked stunning. From what i recall, the Orchids cost her £6 each, the pot £3, and the tea lights you can get big packets for pennies.
When i nipped into tesco the other day i had a look at the Orchids (My favourite flower) and they looked in pretty good shape, they always do when i walk past.
Perhaps you can try something similar if this would be your cup of tea?0
