Cook the cat instead - that'll teach her a lesson :D

No seriously cut the leg off and the turkey should be fine. It's in the oven for a long time, so the heat will kill off any cat germs that might be lurking on it.

I've chopped off bits of food where my old naughty collie had pinched bits and ate the rest, and I'm still alive!
Here I go again on my own....

Moggie will be fine, both mine attacked the raw turkey 5 years ago and polished off both breasts and some of the plastic bag it was wrapped in and they are fine. Unlike me who spent christmas eve running round like a headless chicken trying to find another turkey.

Thank you, thank you, thank you I am laughing so much there are tears rolling down my face. Sorry don't mean to be insensitive but the images the above posts brought to mind are wonderful. As others have said I am sure that if you discard the leg everything will be fine. Still laughing at the thought of your children, bereft of their christmas dinner, eyeing the cat up and down with disgust. :rotfl:

I once cut the top layer off a salmon mousse (complete with very obvious tongue marks) and we were all fine, so as your turkey is going to be cooked I wouldn't worry.

My cat is a saint :) The turkey has been out defrosting all night.
He never even gets up on the counter in the kitchen.
I think he is just too lazy!
  • If it was me, I would just cook the Turkey as normal and give the Mother-in-law that leg! That would wipe the smile off one of her faces!!

Will she be okay after eating raw turkey?
Why would it not be? Cats are animals and that's what they do in the wild.
