Online Photo Album

Hi and thanks for looking, hopefully you will be able to help.

After just getting married and with the wonderful world of digital photo's myself and my wife are wanting to post our wedding photo's online. We would like somewhere to put them online but restrict the people that can see them to family and friends.

Is there anywhere online where we can post the pictures and they give us a special address or code that we can give to people with the web address so they can view the pictures?

I have checked out flickr and a few other sites but they can only share with friends on facebook etc......alot of my family have only just worked out the internet let alone facebook!!!!

any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance

Mark

A friend has just taken the photos at her brother's wedding and has used photobox to create an online photo album. I've not looked at how the site works but I suspect it'll be free to upload and view the photos and they charge for prints. Might be worth a look to see what you think.

picasa is a good option, create and 'unlisted' album and add your photos to that, then send the link to the people you want to have access, only people who have the link can ever see the photos and you can click a button to reset the link at any time.

only problem is picasa only comes with a 1GB limit for full res photos, Dropbox has a 2GB limit and you can do the exact same thing,

but my personal favorite is Windows Live SkyDrive, works exactly the same way create an unlisted album upload the photos (in full res if you want, you have 25GB to use) and send your friends the link (you can revoke the link at anytime), even better if you have them as contacts in hotmail you can specifically allow only people you allow to sign into view the photos.

Just to chuck another one into the mix. Photobucket.

There are free and paid options. The paid options (which costs peanuts) gives greater functionality and space, the free option is also very good.

Whichever one you choose, keep copies as I lost loads of images when a site closed down
