  • Dont quote me 100% on this, but it may be worth looking into

I believe if you are on benefits and apply for a loan from the council/social services, they tend to give you vouchers relevant for what you say the loan is for. I believe they call it a crisis loan. Ie, if you say you want £500 for a new suite of Sofas or a washing machine, then its entirely feasible that youll get it in Argos vouchers, they basically wont give you cash if they can help it and probably have a discount from argos too. About a year back, i had a couple of people trying to sell me Argos vouchers worth £100 for £75, because theyd obtained them with these crisis loans and wanted the cash. The money is automatically deducted out of their benefits, interest free over an agreed period.

While your idea is a fantastic one, it's not correct. Crisis loans are sorted out within a day. Payment is made by a giro. If you get a social fund loan then it's paid in the same way as your other benefits are paid.
This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down
  • If some of the vouchers came from Nectar point, you will have to show your nectar card before they accept it. I just swap my nectar points for Debenham vouchers 500points each worth £5.00 voucher for Debenham/adams/argos/sainsbury. Wonder how that seller manage to get £500!!!

500 nectar points is worth £2.50 or has it changed.

  • Looking at current auctions for this item, it could easily just be the gift card with no money on it as this is not covered under any paypal or ebay protection scheme.

Same goes for any other Gift Card auction, always ask for proof of the amount on card as you get a reciept with them.

    Just my thoughts
