seems the OP got lucky and caught someone at OCUK with a customer service gene - it doesn't change his legal right, but they did, for once, go above the legal requirement of replacement.

And OP, If I put you in the right mood to right a complaint then all of my effort was not in vain ;)

    Option 1)
But even so, I can't believe you willing to spend so much time & effort moaning about a £3 item. If I was you I would cut my losses and buy a new one elsewhere, use option (2) and hope for the best.

have you noticed the url of this page? forums.moneysavingexpert.com there is a hidden clue somewhere; if you look long enough maybe you can spot something? ...seriously though the value of the item is irrelevant I would be acting the same if it cost £1000

How about you stop acting like a di*k and start being realistic?

You might not like my post, I don't care, but if you think your going to get this company to act wholely in your favour then you need to think again. And if you are that serious about enforcing your rights over a £3 item its going to cost you a whole lot more than a few pence!

Ah, just read that. A surprising result & a happy ending.

But my points still stand.. this poster has been completely ungrateful and ignorant throughout the post. Don't know about you, but when I ask other people for help & advise i'm atleast a little bit courteous to those that take the time to respond -- even if its not what they wan't to hear.

you posted nonsense without reading the thread properly....then you go on to say you don't understand why I'm moaning about being ripped off (on a consumer forum lol) ...then you expect me to be grateful ..seriously dude what planet do you live on..maybe you need to be a little more courteous in someone else's thread? ..if you read the thread properly you will see I gave thanks and appreciation to all who posted..even those I didn't agree with

what I want to hear doesn't come into it...the only thing that's important is how useful a post is ..if you have nothing useful to add sometimes it's better to say nothing

Just a quite addition, maybe i'm paranoid but i wouldnt ever return a receipt for postage in the package along with the item i was returning.

Thats your proof of purchase. Scan it and email it to them, that way you still have the original.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
