BT Line Rental Saver and Primus query

I decided to opt for BT's Line Rental Saver recently. I was under the impression that I would still be able to use Primus over my BT landline and got a letter today which was welcoming me back to BT. This has got me slightly confused about the whole arrangement.
Can someone please explain to me if this will have an affect on the calls with Primus? Will I still be able to use Primus now I've switched to BT's Line Rental Saver? If this has affected this in any way will I have to contact Primus to reactivate my account with Primus or should I carry on making calls in the usual way?
The letter goes on to say that the calls will move back to BT on 18 July. It does also explain however that I can cancel my order any time up to 4pm on the working day before the calls are due to be transferred.
Incidentally, I signed up to Primus when Martin first mentioned this and signed up to it for the 90 mins free evening and W/E calls.
I was also under the impression that you could only use PlusNet with BT's line rental, PlusNet being my current ISP, though I've just discovered you can actually use Primus + PlusNet from £15/mth for both line rental and broadband.
I'm quite happy to carry on using BT though, I'm not sure if I want to switch to Primus's Line Rental Saver, and as I mentioned above, I can cancel my order any time up to 4pm on the working day before the calls are due to be transferred back to BT if needs be. Saying that, I'm open to opinions on Primus's Line Rental Saver and may consider switching if I'm advised otherwise.
If someone can explain this I’d be ever so grateful.
Thanks for any help offered.

One of the conditions with BT line rental saver is that you make a specific number of calls using BT.
You can use any ISP you wish with a BT line, I'm on Sky for example.
What is BT Line Rental Saver?
Line Rental Saver from BT (www.bt.com) lets you save money on your phone bills by paying for one year's worth of line rental in advance. It costs just £120 for 12 months, which works out at just £10 a month. BT line rental usually costs £13.90 a month when you pay by monthly direct debit. This means you could save over £40 a year on your line rental.
To be eligible for Line Rental Saver, you have to make a certain number of calls to meet BT's "minimum call commitment". These could be either chargeable calls or inclusive calls. If you're billed monthly you'll need to make at least two calls a month. And if you're billed quarterly you'll need to make at least six calls every three months. Otherwise you'll be charged £1.50 a month (or £4.50 a quarter).
How do I get BT Line Rental Saver?
To qualify for Line Rental Saver, you must sign-up for paperless billing and take any one of the following products:- Unlimited Anytime Plan
- Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan
- Any package of bundled products, such as calls and broadband
That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
So I won't need to contact Primus and should carry on as normal. Primus was actually my main concern.
I’m not too worried about my ISP though if I need to I can hopefully sort this. I know I won’t have to as I can use PlusNet with BT anyway, though if anyone thinks Primus’s deal is better all round over BT then I’d be grateful if they could point this out. Not to worried about this either as I'm quite happy to carry on with BT for the meantime.0 -
AIUI, BT will switch you back to their Unlimited Anytime Plan or their Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan and your existing preference for Primus CPS will be overriden.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I believe that is true (you would lose any CPS) if you just opt for LRS via the BT website (see the associated terms there). But if you talk to them direct by phone they can put you on LRS without disturbing your CPS setup, but you will have to insist on it. But don't try via the Indian call centre - raise the question via the BT website and a UK person will ring you back, or talk to a UK advisor by whatever means you know.0 -
So what you're saying is I should contact BT as soon as I can even though I've already signed up to LRS [via BT's website] and hopefully they should make sure my CPS stays setup? Is that correct? If so, I'll do that as soon as possible.
Incidentally, where exactly do I go to raise a question via BT's website? I can’t see anything on their website; it appears you have to trawl through a load of questions first.0 -
Called customer retention today and asked to cancel my order. Was getting loads of hassle from CS so decided to cancel, they weren't returning my calls, and a few other reasons besides. May call customer retention again sometime in the near future and see if they'll let me keep my CPS without having to pay any extra charges, wish I'd done this in the first place. Can only try.
No point me getting Primus line rental + Plusnet broadband as there’s a £25 Connection fee, not much point paying this when I’ve already with Plusnet anyway.
Thanks for all your help.0
