Hi
Just after a bit of advice, I have been told my job role is at risk of redundancy {i work in a nursery in a college} i have been offered re-deployment which they say is reasonable, I do not as I am qualified to work with early years not over 16's. from the beginning I was told if i didn't want one of the roles then I could take my redundancy but now it has changed if I take my redundancy I have to sign a compromise agreement and say it's voluntary or I can't have it.
Can they do this?
many thanks

Why does it matter whether its voluntary or not.
Surely working in the college with another different age group and having a job is better than being out of a job and going on JSA isnt it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

just need to know where I stand as when I've spoken to Acas they have said I don't need to sign one as they aren't giving any different to what I am entitled to.
I have worked hard to be where I am in my chosen career and that is the direction I would like to continue in

Well that's fine but could you stick at it till you find another job in your chosen path, You could, in todays work climate, be out of work for months/years.
At least you would be earning a salary to pay the bills till you find something suitable.
How long have you worked there.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
