HPI check on the cheap?

£20.50 is a bit steep for an HPI check. Need to know if there's been any major insurance claims on a prospective purchase, etc. Any cheaper checks that don't skimp on the details??

Just to add as a tip for others, when I go to see the car I'll ask seller to see the V5, then use the ref no. along with the reg plate to check the last MOT data, it should warn me if its been clocked by the seller. Smartphone comes in very handy.

    I'm sure the RAC were doing this for a £5er the last time I looked.

    The golden rule however is that if it was written orf last week, it will still show clear, and under the following circumstances it always will, I'm sure you know what I mean?.

    And if not;

    3rd party ins driver totals car.

    No claim.

    buddy fixes it for next to nowt.

    car resold with bodged accident damage for the "normal price"

    Takes a beedy eye to spot fella
    I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

    Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

    Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
