Anyone know how i can get round FF5 incompatibility with Google Toolbar? I bloody hate Ask Geeves search engine.

The other thing is, I've set ff5 homepage options to Google but when opening the browser, or a new Tab, it loads Ask Geeves... Any idea's?

Thanks...

Uninstall Ask toolbar (Start > Control Panel > Add/Remover OR Programs & Features)

That would leave me without a toolbar.

Firefox comes with search toolbar, by default set to google.

If it's not there, then right click and 'customise', then drag it from the list.

Rather than Googlebar can I recommend the Googlebar lite add-on.

    Advantages
    1) As the name suggests it's a lighter version but does the same job. 2) Unlike the full googlebar, this version does not track your browsing.
    3) You can add an icon to your Firefox Menu bar to toggle this toolbar on/off
    4) It's compatible with all versions of Firefox

Not only does FF have it's own search-bar .. the address bar also works in this way too!

Thanks for the replies guys. I got it figured at last...

what i did was, downloaded FF Compatibility Reporter - then downloaded Google Toolbar and then run the install program. Half way through the install an error flashed up.. "Not compatible with skype extension". I un-installed the Skype Toolbar (not skype itself) then run the install program again. Hey-presto got Google Toolbar,, Bye Bye Jeeves :T
