Hi all thanks for the replies, I've had no luck trying to find advertised work for weekends evenings etc, doesnt seem to be any part time stuff in the area
and in terms of elance, looks like they arent really interested in the support side of things just coding

Someone has already mentioned elance, why not try guru, they cater for all sorts of freelancers. You can see the jobs that people want doing on their notice board. Don't give up hope and don't stop looking, i was paid a few grand a couple of years ago for doing some work on there so you just have to persevere my friend. Failing that, have a look for other opportunities that might be outside your field. I'm getting into SEO an stuff like that. Don't be scared to try new things.0

One thing you do NOT want to try are those work from home jobs, stuffing envelopes and all that scamming rubbish. NEVER pay anyone for work. yes, Guru charge a fee but only out of the money you've been paid, and its more like an agent's fee and well worth it IMHO.0

i would suggest try saving more by reducing outgoings.
i know that i have roughly 20-30 pounds worth of insurance's that i could cancel if times got rough. or i could cutback on gym expenses and protein shakes and other leisurely activites.
once you have then exhausted those avenues, re-assess?8k/13k for 2013!0 -

This is fair enough, but it's not really the whole answer. He wants to earn more money too, I feel.0 -
