Tesco Scam

I am so angry at Tesco that I have to vent!!
I was recently in Tesco in Dorchester where they had 4 pack cans of the John West Tuna for £3.49 BOGOF.
Although on holiday at the time, I'm glad I bought the deal as when I got home to my local store (Sidcup) the offer they had on was £6.99 BOGOF! (same online)
Seriously how can this be justified??
I wish I had bought more - Is London really twice as expensive as the rest of the country?
It's almost worth a road trip to stock up!

So where's the scam?
It's more likely that the £3.49 price in Dorchester was a mistake, or they had far too much delivered that they needed to get rid of.
The 4 pack of JW tina has been £6.99 or thereabouts for ages in all the Tescos near me, that's why I always buy Sainsbury's own, £4.49 for 4 x bigger tins than the JW.
Did you have to pay 50p for your receipt?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
£3.49 bogof is seriously cheap, thats more like a price from last year, how long were you on holiday?0

Back when I lived in the UK (last year) my mum noticed that my local Tesco had better offers than hers so she politely enquired at her local Tescos.
It seems that some special offers are at the discretion of the store managers (e.g. in situations described by the above poster).
Hardly a scam."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
People really dont understand commerce nor the word 'Scam'.one of the famous 50

I live in London and buy them in the 99p shop - 3 tins for a pound.0 -
This was about 2 weeks ago.
Its a frustration that one store is reasonably priced and others are charging twice that amount, as it is a natural assumption that the store prices would be consistent/similar, even though I understand the offers are not.. If I had any clue that the offer was a once in a lifetime for Tesco, then I would have stocked up.
I actually found a great Tuna offer on at a local Nisa for either Princes or JW which puts Tesco to shame anyway.
Why would I pay 50p for a receipt?
Evidently I haven't visited all the Tesco stores within the UK and so my price comparison was based upon the 2 stores I mentioned (and the one linked to my on-line order). Judging by the comments above, the higher prices are charged at the majority of stores and so therefore the word 'scam' is N/A... Therefore I apologise profusely for the upset caused by using the word "scam" instead of "let down" - I shall invest in a thesaurus and Dictionary forthwith!!0 -

The 50p for a receipt is in reference to another poster who said tesco were chrging 50p for an itemised receipt but he got rumbled as talking tosh.
London is expensive and so do expect food prices and wages to be higher than the rest of the country.0
