Still having sagas with SKY

New phoneline order on 2nd June.
Engineer booked to arrive on 24th June, long time I though but lets go with it - on the day no one turned up.
Away the next couple of days so spoke to SKY on 27th June - they told me there had been an error on their system and an engineer hadnt actually been called (despite us having confirmation of his visit in writing) - profuse apologies all round.
Told us new order had been put through and would have confirmation of engineer visit in next couple of days.
Now 6th July and have still not heard - just phoned Customer Services and they the guy I spoke to said 'another team set this up but the order hasnt actually been progressed yet!!' Profuse apologies all round - again!
And then... 'I can put it through now but will have to charge you for the service and then refund you at later date' Errr I dont think so mate!!!
After being on hold for 15 mins while he spoke to his manager, I was then told that the 'other team' would call me back within 24-48 hours and there was nothing else he could do personally but I should be reassured that my order was being dealt with!!
Will I get this phonecall? I think not!!!
We are only going through SKY as we have had a very similar saga with BT except they were going to charge us a lot more than SKY (but even with no charge my patience is slowly wearing thin.) We have been without phone & internet access now for 6 weeks and ive never been so frustrated.
If I havent got the call within 48 hours I really want to cancel our service with SKY - can anyone recommend another supplier of a landline that wont cause us so much hassle??
