    that's because both you were silly enough to actually give facebook your emails account password, so they downloaded your entire contacts list inorder to 'suggest' you friends.

    Well i never ever put my Hotmail password on FB. I have never done a search for friends by giving FB my password.Yet they suggested a friend i might know who is not friends with any of my friends
    Work it out yourself !

    Facebook identifies potential friends using the MI5 database, or the other way round - I can never remember.
