Should I switch NOW from Eon SaveOnline5 to Eon FixedPrice5 or WAIT until Nov '11?

I moved onto E.On's SaveOnline5 plan in March 2011 when my older online plan expired. When I moved onto this plan I was under the impression that it was guaranteed to be 6% cheaper than standard tariffs until April 2012, but seems it is only guaranteed until November 2011 (I would be grateful if someone could set me straight on this?).

If the SaveOnline5 plan discount is indeed only guaranteed until November 2011, with the imminent threat of 20% price hikes, I'm wondering if it's better to switch over to E.On's FixedPrice5 plan now instead of waiting until November 2011?

N.B. As my annual usage is so high due to the cold Scottish winters (my dual fuel bill is approx £3000 per annum!), the £30 exit fee is negligible to me.

    Hi ToTo Man

Just to clarify, the end date for Saveonline 5 is 1 April 2012. Up until this time, we guarantee prices will be at least 6 per cent cheaper than our standard tariff.

Hope this clears up the confusion ToTo Man. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

Thanks for clarifying that, Malc. I was confused because when I originally signed up for SaveOnline5 it said that prices were guaranteed to be at least 6 per cent cheaper than the standard tariff until April 2012, but when I log into my account online and go to the Switch Tariff page, it details my current plan as having prices guaranteed to be 6% cheaper than the standard tariff until November 2011. I'm assuming this latter info is a misprint?

    Hi ToTo Man

I see where the confusion is coming from now. This is something we're aware of and, to be honest, have been for a while now.

We've had an issue with our website and the information on certain tariffs has been jumbled up. Our website bods are looking into fixing this but it's taking longer than we would like.

Don't worry, though; the terms of your contract are as I put in my earlier post.

Sorry for the confusion ToTo Man but hope this explains what's happened.
